Why Do We Need the Bill, Dying With Dignity? No Need! It Has Already Been Performed, Privately, Among Some Families.

One of my reply or comment on Richard Kim for Governor.

“This (e.g. low salary) may lead doctors to find alternative treatment, which may also lead them to become less ethical.

That is one of the reasons why I am still against bill regarding dying with dignity (or how the bill is covered with good words), although fundamentally I may not be against it.

Plz, remember we need to check ourselves, first, whether we are capable of doing the jobs.

Knowing our current emotional health (including all medical professionals) and further possible loopholes of abuse, I cannot agree with the bill.

More vetting process as well as improvement of our emotional health, esp.on those who may be implementing and/or performing the bill, may be surely necessary.

Note: Dying with dignity may have already been privately performed among some families. Then, why do we want such law?
As I see and feel, there may be or possible, some people may want to take advantage of its legislation.

P.S. 1. Possible abuse of the prospective bill, e.g. on people with medicaid with terminal and/or chronic illnesses.
2.Also, recently, Civil Beat might have conducted a survey or poll, regarding this bill. Although some more people may now approve the bill, however, I may not agree with the data for its scientific significance, e.g. their methods and/or levels of people’s knowledge about pros and cons regarding the bill. So far, did Media (e.g. Civil Beat) provide public sufficient, balanced reports (pros and cons) about the bill? I don’t think so, (as far as I know). Media Reform!

Multifactorial Approach on Drug Abuse…

BBC News – Opioid crisis linked to two-year drop in US life expectancy

There should be a multifactorial approach, tackling this issue.

Among other things,

1. Medical professionals (like myself) should be more careful of Rxing (prescribing) narcotic drugs, e.g. by checking patients’ history more carefully, since many doctors may tend to avoid getting more info or confrontation (against patients’ will), due to e.g. fear of losing patients (losing business).
Professionals reform…!

2. Patients Education. Find ways, e.g. to improve patient’s own self esteem; so that they don’t rely much on drugs.
People reform…!
