Regarding Economic Reform.

My reply to Mr. Ian Koski, who wrote “Economic reform. Energy reform and agriculture reform!” on Richard Kim for Governor.

“I have also been thinking about your stated reforms, which may be very necessary for our self-reliability and sustainability.

On Energy and Agricultural reforms, Gov. Ige might have been talking about them. So, I will study more about his plans, and consider if they may need more or major changes, (if and when I get elected).

On Economic reform, we (People of Hawaii) may need to have some consensus, because balanced economic development may possibly require us to sacrifice some, if not much, of natural environment; since we may need to implement e.g., some manufacturing jobs and industries, at least, for our self sustainabilty. (Fyi, our islands’ population might have grown about 50% for 30? years or so. We may need to plan and prepare for more population growth.)

I will survey and consider cautiously; since, without some sacrifice of natural environment, we may not achieve our balanced economic growth and sustainability…

These can be further discussed, later, e.g. in legislature.
Once again, mahalo nui.”
